COLBY SCHRECK

HELLO AND WELCOME!

OUT OF ALL THE WEBSITES ONLINE YOU’VE LANDED ON MINE.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

I LOOK FORWARD TO CREATING WITH YOU.

A native of Irving, TX, my love for drums began Christmas of my 4th grade year when I received a CB700 5pc Kit in black wrap -fitted with only the finest brass cymbals! After many hours of playing with CD's AKA “bashing the cymbals into morphed versions of their former selves and breaking both pedals” a trip to the local music store was made and my love of playing drums/music and the world of gear was solidified.

I began playing and teaching locally in high school eventually attending and graduating in 2011 from the University of North Texas College of Music with a degree in Jazz Studies Music Performance. While at UNT I had the pleasure of playing with a diverse group of other students in small and large ensembles while studying under Ed Soph, Mike Drake, Ed Smith, José Aponte, Christopher Dean, and Paul Rennick and many others. After graduating in 2011 I continued teaching privately and gigged throughout the Southwest playing an assortment of Jazz, Top 40, rock, CCM, country and improvisational music with many musicians.

Since August of 2012 I have focused on my business The (Ghost) Note Drum Shop & Music School located in Denton, TX where I wear many hats including continuing teaching private drum lessons. More info at theghostnote.net.

I currently spend my time focused on The (Ghost) Note, teaching and managing lessons along with working in drum shop and also work as a freelance drummer playing live and recording both in local studios and my own home studio. Outside music I love nothing more than spending time with family, my dogs, drinking exorbitant amounts of coffee, running and doing headstands.

I AM LOCATED IN DENTON, TX and available for travel when creativity calls.
